FMEA Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
Online FMEA tool. Supports Design FMEA (DFMEA) and Process FMEA (PFMEA), automatically calculates the Risk Priority Number (RPN) and generates a risk matrix.
At what RPN is action required?
There is no universal threshold. Items with RPN > 100 or severity S ≥ 9 are usually prioritized for improvement. The newer AIAG-VDA FMEA replaces RPN with Action Priority (AP).
What is the difference between DFMEA and PFMEA?
DFMEA analyzes product design weaknesses during the design phase, while PFMEA analyzes process weaknesses during manufacturing process development. The two focus on different failure modes.
